Lived in the house upstairs for almost a year. You hear about places in Germany where landlords mint money. This is a live example. So do not rent property in this location as the landlord is a crook. He never returned the deposit and fabricated lies after our move so that he has an excuse not to return money. As we left Germany permanently, we could not pursue this matter in court but want to help other innocent people. He behaves very nicely in the beginning and is ready to make all adjustments till you sign a lease. Also go for a government lease and hold your deposit in a joint account to avoid this kind of a hassle.

Nice and cozy atmosphere. Friendly service and reasonable prices. The location is in an historic building one block from the Rhine river.
